NEWEST BACKGROUNDS
Backdrop like this is created once every few years. The process is long, one-of-a-kind. We returned to work on it from time to time, using different methods and under varying conditions. This is how countless shades and traces of painting tools emerge. Each fragment offers a different detail, and in the final finishing touches, we ensured the harmony of the whole.
The metallic colors are applied with varying intensity. Where they are most concentrated, they retain a satin finish, appearing like browns but much more dynamic when exposed to light. In strong lighting, they appear energetic, saturated, and cheerful. In low light, there’s always something happening, even in the deepest shadows, the backdrop becomes atmospheric and theatrical.
The cats’ fur colors are no accident here — these furry assistants also feature white and a range of grays, which effectively help you assess how the backdrop performs in use and make it easier for the eye to recognize actual lighting conditions.
The backdrop has a tunnel for attaching it to a frame.
The backdrop can be ironed using a spray bottle at a high temperature, through a cotton cloth on the other side. Since the backdrop is much stiffer than a regular crumpled backdrop, creases from being folded into a cube for transport will be clearly visible immediately after unfolding.
If possible, it’s best to hang it up, dampen it thoroughly with a spray bottle, and leave it for a day so it can smooth out under its own weight before ironing. A steamer works well when the backdrop is hung up.
The process of crumpling and ironing out the creases can be repeated many times.
The paints are waterproof, the design won’t wash off, even in the rain. However, the backdrop should not be washed, as prolonged, vigorous soaking combined with friction can damage it.
Local stains can be removed with a wet, rough sponge or cloth.
